
The HPT is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization consisting of people interested in the preservation and restoration of local historic and cultural resources, single/multi-family housing and commercial buildings primarily within the City of Holyoke and to provide education for responsible economic development through preservation classes, lectures and historic trades apprenticeships.

It offers access to over 10,000 funding programs (grants, loans, tax incentives, easement programs, rebates) and work training / educational programs (internships, fellowships, scholarships, residencies, and apprenticeships) in historic preservation and cultural resource management areas.
There are programs for historic preservation and building restoration (including emergency repair programs), museums and cultural resource conservation, architecture and design, downtown and main street revitalization, libraries and archives, archaeology, the arts (performing, visual, writing), and the humanities.
Programs are available Locally, Countywide, Regionally, Statewide, and Nationally (National and Federal Programs). The site covers the entire United States and its territories.
Please note that there is a membership fee to access the database ($25/month or $85/year; it does not auto-renew). Your membership fee supports the website's construction and ongoing maintenance, funding program research and data entry, regular site updates, and staff time.
